Hello families!

All 27 faces were present today!  Thank you for sending your kids on time and ready before 8am.  If you didn't get a chance to send in 4 Composition Books today, please do so tomorrow as we will be diving in.  Also, water bottles clearly labeled as we cannot use our classroom drinking fountain and we do not keep cups in our room.

Welcome to 5th Grade!

Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Welcome to the fifth grade class of 2019! We are looking forward to a wonderful year and getting to know you and your children. We would like to explain how we will do school supplies as we look forward to the new year.

We have a shared community of supplies in our classrooms and keep the supplies stored in central locations. Instead of parents purchasing all the individual supplies, we will be purchasing most of them for you.

On the first day of school, please have your child bring:

• 5 composition journals (they will go on sale usually for .50 cents or so each.

            Composition journals only – no spirals)

• Cash or check made out to Maplewood for $40 in an envelope, clearly labeled with your child’s name. This will cover the cost of the remainder of the supplies. Part of the money also covers classroom party expenses and subscriptions for your student. (If this amount is a hardship, please let us know and we can arrange for a supply scholarship.)

• Their own PENCILS ALL YEAR: Preferably #2 Ticonderoga. 

• And of course, their own WATER BOTTLE with their name clearly marked.
